It’s been awhile since we’ve heard much from Microsoft’s new racing game racer.
But the company has revealed the game’s name and launch date, and the Xbox One racer is set to launch this fall for $19.99.
That’s pretty much a steal for a game that’s being developed for the new console.
“We’ve been working on this game since 2015 and the first time we talked about the game was when we were developing Kinect Sports Rivals,” said Andrew Shaw, the senior vice president of Xbox Studios.
“When we were working on Kinect Sports, we knew we wanted to create a game in the same vein as the ones that come out for the Xbox and the PC.
We wanted to give players the same sense of freedom and control over the racing experience that we do on the PC.”
And that freedom has been achieved in spades.
“The Kinect racing game is going to be a great racing game,” Shaw said.
“You’re going to have the freedom to drive the car and race it like you would on the Xbox.”
And the racing action isn’t just about making you jump and smash your way through obstacles.
You’ll also have the ability to turn and take off in a car.
“This is a real time racing game.
You won’t be running around the track or in the air,” Shaw explained.
“And the physics are very good.
This is a very real racing game.”
The title will also be playable on the new Xbox One Pro and Kinect sensor.
But it will also work on the old console, which Shaw called “a great console.”
The Kinect sensor is built into the Xbox’s controller, and it will allow you to play games like Xbox One Sports Rivals, Kinect Sports and other games that run on the controller.
Shaw also mentioned that this game will also run on Windows 10 PCs and phones, which should make it a great choice for those who prefer to use Windows for their entertainment.
Microsoft isn’t revealing much about the title other than that it will be a racing game and it won’t include traditional sports racing modes like track events or the like.
The title is expected to launch sometime this fall, but Shaw says it will have some other features that will be added in time.
“As far as the gameplay, it’s going to run on all of the best racing games,” he said.
It will also have a variety of other game modes, including a first-person experience that simulates a real-life race.
But Shaw doesn’t want to spoil any surprises.
“I don’t want anyone to get too excited,” he added.
“It’s going for a true racing experience, but also very casual.”
Microsoft has yet to reveal much about this new racing title.
It is currently available on the Windows Store for free.
The Xbox team is also working on new racing titles for Xbox One, but we’re not seeing any of those yet.
The next big racing game on Xbox is also set to release this fall: Microsoft Racing Ultimate for PC and Xbox One.
It’s a free download that’s supposed to be released this fall.
